European Economic Law - Master's Programme

Master's programme 路 2 years 路 120 credits

Four students discussing something in front of a large window at the Faculty of Law

Description

The Master鈥檚 Programme in European Economic Law focuses on the internal market, competition, and trade within the EU and beyond. You will gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills to understand how EU law operates in cross-border and global contexts.

Master the rules of the European economy

The programme offers a comprehensive education in both the theoretical foundations and practical applications of EU law, with a particular focus on the internal market in a global context. The programme emphasises sustainability and the development of procedural skills, equipping graduates to deliver innovative and reliable legal solutions in diverse professional environments.

After the programme you will have a thorough understanding of the EU鈥檚 constitutional framework, the functioning of the internal market across domestic, transnational, and global contexts, and the principles governing competition.  The programme also offers opportunities to specialise in areas such as law, technology and innovation, intellectual property law, global value chains, and financial law. Learning is enriched by opportunities to apply theory in practice and to engage with both leading academics and experienced practitioners.

Programme structure

The programme can be completed in one year, or extended to two years with the addition of elective courses. The two-year track allows you to customise your studies in alignment with personal interests and professional aspirations, gaining a competitive advantage in the labour market.

Teaching and learning

The programme integrates theory with hands-on learning through lectures, seminars, and practical exercises. You will work with real-world case studies and benefit from the insights of both top researchers and practitioners working in the field. This approach ensures that as a graduate of this programme, you are not only well-informed but also well-prepared to deliver dependable and innovative legal solutions in a variety of professional contexts.
