What is your educational background?
"MSc in Civil Engineering, PhD in Water and Environmental Engineering."
Do you have any experience from the industry?
"Yes, I have been working in the municipality and as a consultant."
What drew you to a career in academia?
"Curiosity and the interesting opportunity of working with both research and education."
What are your research interests?
"Wastewater treatment and resource recovery. My most recent publication: Juárez, R., Karlsson, S., Falås, P., Davidsson, Å., Bester, K., Cimbritz, M. (2021). 'Integrating dissolved and particulate matter into a prediction tool for ozonation of organic micropollutants in wastewater.' Journal: Science of the Total Environment"
How would you describe your course and its key features?
"The Water and Wastewater Treatment (VVAN25) course is a broad course about water treatment. The aim of the course is to provide knowledge about water and wastewater treatment to be able to design and operate municipal facilities for the production of drinking water and treatment of wastewater in the urban area."
What is your driving force as a teacher?
"To see the students' interest in learning about water treatment and to follow their development."
What is your advice to international students before coming to LTH?
"Be prepared to study hard, but also take advantage of the nice student life that 51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæ can offer!"
About Ã…sa
Ã…sa Davidsson is an Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer at the Department of Chemical Engineering at 51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæ, working in the Water and Environmental group. She has more than 15 years’ experience in the biogas field. Besides teaching, she is currently working with different research projects concerning waste and wastewater treatment. Ã…sa coordinates and teaches a course, The Water and Wastewater Treatment, as part of the Master's programme in Water Resources Engineering.
