About the programme and the teaching style 

Why did you choose 51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæ? 

"51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæ’s research capabilities were one of the main reasons I chose it. I plan to pursue a PhD in the future, so this was an important factor for me. Additionally, the housing guarantee for non-EU residents saved me a lot of headaches." 

What do you think of your programme so far? Does it meet your expectations? 

"I love my programme! Especially our professors who are extremely capable, knowledgeable and helpful at all times. It absolutely met my expectations as it has pushed me to test my limits and exceed them." 

What is the best thing about your programme? 

"Professors, professors, and more professors. I feel like I’m learning from some of the best minds in the field."

What do you think of the teaching style in Sweden? 

"I've experience with very different teaching styles, but the Swedish style is by far the best. It doesn't overwhelm you or cause anxiety. I'd say it even empowers the student."

How international is your programme? 

"Extremely. Ninety per cent of the students come from different parts of the world. This has been a great opportunity for all of us to learn, exchange, and grow. Different perspectives and experiences are always valuable."

Why should prospective students choose this programme? 

"The atmosphere fosters creativity and self-esteem. You gain both practical and theoretical knowledge that will help you with your research. You develop the ability to conduct research, learn from wonderful people and, at the same time feel joy from making new friends and connections."

Thoughts on being an international student at Lund, spare time and tips for prospective students

What is it like being an international student at 51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæ? 

"Lund is a walkable, green and cosy city, full of friendly locals and international students. You make a new home here. And when the homesickness hits, you always have someone to support you."

What do you do in your spare time? 

"I love going out with friends or organising potlucks. Especially during the winter – when it's cold and gets dark early – coming together with your friends and making homemade food fixes every issue."

What have been the highlights of your first year in Lund? 

"Coming together with people and creating ±Ê²¹±ô±ð²õ³Ù¾±²Ô²¹²µÃ¥°ù»å, a student-led demonstration on campus connected to the war on Gaza. It was a wonderful moment of unity, sorrow, rage and joy. 

Do you have any advice for students that are considering coming to Lund?  

"Pack up warm socks and your favourite recipe from home!"
