Meet Lea Fünfschilling – Associate professor and Senior lecturer
The programme in Innovation and Societal change is based on interdisciplinary research and teaching, with teachers from different disciplines across 51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæâ€™s faculties. "CIRCLE has a long history of groundbreaking innovation research that is based on lively interdisciplinary collaborations within the social sciences. CIRCLE also has a long tradition of working transdiscplinary with local and national actor in innovation and regional policy."

"Society is currently under pressure to change – because of digitalisation, AI, and environmental sustainability concerns. The program does not only shed light on innovation – which is an important component to address societal challenges – but also explores topics of societal change and sustainability more broadly."

What is your academic background and how long have you been teaching at 51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæ?
"I’m a sociologist and have been teaching at 51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæ for 10 years."
What are you currently working on in terms of research projects?
"I have an ERC-funded research project called ENDINGS, where we study processes of destabilisation, discontinuation, and decline in various industries."
