Description

How can information systems tackle organisational and societal challenges? This programme equips you with the tools and skills to understand the connections between technology, people and business.

Information systems (IS) serve as a bridge between technology and human activities. In this programme, you will explore how Information Technologies (IT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be used to achieve strategic goals and how Business Intelligence (BI) empowers organisations to make informed decisions. You will gain a deeper understanding of the broader business context of information systems, the impact of digitalisation on organisations and the interaction between IT, innovation and sustainability.

Our focus is on the digital transformation of society and human activities, examining both the process and its effect on users and organisations. Other topics covered are: decision management and decision automation, business intelligence, green and sustainable IS, strategic management and information systems and artificial intelligence.

The courses are designed to apply theory, models and tools to real-world, complex cases. You will also learn how to participate in and lead information systems-related change and innovation projects in both national and international contexts.

By joining this multicultural and interdisciplinary programme, you will not only deepen your understanding of information systems but also develop valuable skills for working in diverse, international teams – an asset for your future career in today’s global job market.

During the programme

Our teaching methods are diverse and engaging, including theoretical studies complemented by practical applications. Teaching includes lectures, case studies, laboratory work, workshops and text analysis. A significant portion of the programme involves collaborative group work, seminar discussions and presentations, requiring strong English communication skills as well as active participation in on-campus activities. We expect students to take responsibility and ownership of their studies and knowledge development.

Assessment methods are tailored to the content and objectives of each course. They may include individual essays and assignments, hall exams or home examinations, group projects, seminars or presentations.

The programme ends with the writing of a Master’s thesis, offering you the opportunity to delve deeper into an area of interest. The thesis involves independent work in teams addressing a research problem, developing a theoretical framework and conducting an empirical investigation.

Throughout the programme, you will have opportunities to connect with industry professionals through guest lectures and networking events. These experiences will provide you with valuable insights into the real-world applications of your studies and help you build a professional network.

Career opportunities

After graduation, our students are in high demand, as organisations rely on information systems experts to understand and design systems that keep them competitive in today's global marketplace. This programme provides you with outstanding career opportunities in positions that links technology, people and business. Potential positions include: IT consultant, product manager, IS designer, IT project manager, business and systems analyst and business intelligence analyst. Additionally, this programme is an excellent preparation for doctoral studies.

Our alumni have secured positions at prestigious companies such as Goldman Sachs, Tetra Pak, Capgemini, IBM, Microsoft, Ericsson, PWC, IKEA, Axis Communications, Qlik, Accenture and EY. Some graduates have ventured into entrepreneurship, starting their own successful businesses.
