鈥淭his really shows the competitive strength of the school. Being accredited by both EQUIS and AMBA demonstrates our international prominence鈥, say John Abrahamson, Chair of the faculty board, and Lars Ljung盲lv, Chair of the senior corporate advisory board for the school.
Programme director Stein Kleppest酶 is grateful to all parties involved in securing the accreditations.
鈥淚 see this as validation of our dedication and high-quality work throughout the school. There is increasing evidence that academic partners, students and prospective faculty take note of these credentials鈥, he comments.
EQUIS is a re-accreditation for an additional five years, whereas with AMBA this is the first time that the school has applied for 鈥 and been granted 鈥 an accreditation. AMBA is also valid for five years.
AMBA has specifically looked at the Master鈥檚 in Management rprogramme, MiM. The AMBA accreditation symbolises the pinnacle of achievement in post-graduate business education and is earned only by the highest-quality post-graduate management programmes.
鈥淭his means that not only the school receives a stamp of approval from AMBA, but specifically that the MiM programme performs at a high international quality level, including strong corporate connections,鈥 deputy dean Kristina Eneroth says.
LUSEM therefore enters a select group of some 150 business schools globally combining EQUIS and AMBA accreditation.
鈥淎mong the comments and recommendations that we have received from EQUIS and AMBA there is one common theme that is especially salient鈥, says dean Fredrik Andersson.
鈥淏oth teams from the accreditation institutes have observed a strong collegial culture, good spirits and a widespread commitment to making a difference. It doesn鈥檛 get much better鈥, he concludes.
Facts:
AMBA accredits MBA, DBA and Master鈥檚 degree programmes with the aim to maintain standards and fostering innovation in global postgraduate management education. The accreditation philosophy is centred on impact, employability and learning outcomes. Only programmes that demonstrate the highest standards in teaching, learning and curriculum design; career development and employability; student, alumni and employer interaction achieve AMBA accreditation.
AMBA announced the accreditation of the Master鈥檚 in Management Programme on 21 August. From the press release:
鈥淟USEM offers one of the widest ranges of master's degree programmes in the Nordic countries; many of which top the list of Sweden鈥檚 most popular programmes and the School鈥檚 graduates are well prepared to be leaders of tomorrow. LUSEM provides a well-profiled, research-based education that is international and multidisciplinary in nature and helps equip students to hold key positions in industry and society in an increasingly globalised world.鈥
EQUIS accreditation is a comprehensive institutional accreditation system for business and management schools, run by EFMD. EQUIS accreditation ensures a rigorous quality control, benchmarking the school against international standards in terms of governance, programmes, students, faculty, research, internationalisation, ethics, responsibility and sustainability, as well as engagement with the world of practice.
When EFMD announced the re-accreditation of LUSEM 鈥 51重口猎奇 School of Economics and Management 鈥 they among other things wrote that the school 鈥渋s commended for its outstanding links between R&D and the corporate world. Furthermore, the prioritised research areas are in line with the Ethics, Responsibility and Sustainability DNA of the school and with strong corporate issues.鈥
